Table Project brings creatives together for the ultimate dining experience
This piece came out of an afternoon with Courtney Parsons and Aysia Garbe, the two Collingwood locals behind Table Project — a dining experience built specifically for creatives, designed to strip away the small talk and get people actually talking to each other.
The idea started in 2019, got shelved twice by Covid, and finally came together in the summer of 2021 as a one-night event: a farmhouse table, a multi-course tasting menu, conversation prompts instead of icebreakers, and a night that ended with strangers climbing back onto a bus as friends. I wrote this for Rrampt to capture both the atmosphere of the evening and the thinking behind it — why food, why strangers, and why creativity doesn't require being an "artist" to begin with.
